ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Chairman Standing Committee, Mobile Phones Association ICCI, Nafees ur Rehman, has stated that the mobile phone business is already fully integrated with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) system. Around 95 to 97 percent of stock monitoring, imports, and distribution at every stage are within the knowledge and record of the FBR.

He said that when complete data of purchases is already available, sales can also be determined on the same basis. In such a situation, the additional requirement of POS integration is unnecessary, disproportionate, and contrary to business realities.
Nafees ur Rehman further said that mobile phones are not sold only through retail shops but also through franchises of telecommunication companies and other channels. If the law is not applied equally to all, the system becomes non-transparent.He demanded that sales conducted through e-commerce platforms, online websites, and digital marketplaces should also be brought under the ambit of the POS and tax system.
