Baku ( WNAM MONITORING): According to Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee, 2,570.2 thousand foreigners and stateless persons from 189 countries visited Azerbaijan in 2025, representing a 2.1 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The Committee reported that 23.9 percent of arrivals were Russian citizens, 17.7 percent Turkish citizens, 8.1 percent Iranian citizens, 6.5 percent Indian citizens, 4.3 percent Georgian citizens, 4.1 percent Saudi Arabian citizens, 4.0 percent Kazakh citizens, 3.5 percent Pakistani citizens, 2.7 percent Israeli citizens, 2.5 percent Chinese citizens, 2.4 percent Uzbek citizens, 1.7 percent UAE citizens, 1.4 percent Ukrainian citizens, 1.3 percent Turkmen citizens, 1.0 percent each from Belarus, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait, while 12.9 percent came from other countries.
Based on international arrival data, 67.0 percent of visitors were men and 33.0 percent were women.
The number of visitors from EU member states increased by 7.0 percent, reaching 120.1 thousand, while arrivals from CIS countries rose by 8.2 percent to 865.7 thousand.
According to the Committee, 75.8 percent of foreigners and stateless persons entered Azerbaijan by air, 22.9 percent by railway and road transport, and 1.3 percent by sea transport.
In 2025, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 2.3 percent, totaling 2,109.9 thousand people.
Of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad, 41.2 percent visited Türkiye, 14.5 percent Russia, 10.7 percent Georgia, 9.7 percent Iran, and 23.9 percent other countries.
Among Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad, 69.6 percent used air transport, 28.5 percent railway and road transport, and 1.9 percent sea transport.
