WNAM REPORT:  President Prabowo Subianto conveyed the importance of national vigilance in facing the increasingly complex dynamics and tensions of global politics.

In his briefing at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Central and Regional Governments in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, he reminded that since the founding of the Republic of Indonesia, the world has been in the midst of ideological and geopolitical conflicts that have had both direct and indirect impacts on Indonesia.

“From the start of the first president, we, Indonesia, but the whole world, were in the middle of a big ideological war. A big ideological war in the world, where the world was divided into blocks, there was a communist block and an anti-communist block, you could say a democratic block, a capitalist block,” he said.

He further emphasized that global conflicts such as the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza have had a wide-ranging impact, including on Indonesia’s economic stability, security, and national resilience.

Therefore, he said, all levels of government are asked to fully understand the global challenges currently being faced.

“So, brothers and sisters, this is what I want to convey to all levels of government. Let us be vigilant, let us understand the challenges that exist in this world,” he said.

He also presented the results of his observations from various international meetings he had recently attended in Europe, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

According to him, in the meeting there was increasing concern among world leaders about the potential outbreak of World War III.

“Almost all world leaders are worried about the possibility of a Third World War,” he said.

In this context, he reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to an independent and active foreign policy and the principle of non-alignment. Indonesia will not join any military pact and will continue to prioritize friendship with all nations.
