London hosts IT Invest Day forum focused on investment in Uzbekistan’s digital economy

WNAM REPORT: IT Invest Day was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the country’s Ministry of Digital Technologies to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with the United Kingdom and attract high-tech investments.

The forum was attended by representatives of leading international companies and organizations, including London Stock Exchange Group, Savvy, Meridian Universal, SteelRose, EY-Parthenon, AVDO, Hudson Sandler, Lewis Silkin LLP, and Donut Soft. Their presence underscored the event’s practical significance from the perspectives of investment and technological cooperation.

As part of the forum, reforms in the field of information technologies implemented in Uzbekistan, institutional and legal mechanisms to support the sector, tax incentives, and the system for training IT specialists were presented. Special attention was paid to the development of human capital in the regions, the preparation of young specialists for work in the international IT market, and the advantages of the IT Park Uzbekistan resident status.

Forum participants discussed strategic plans to transform Uzbekistan into a regional hub for artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. The focus was on the formation of an artificial intelligence ecosystem, the introduction of public-private partnerships, prospects for the digital economy, the creation of data centers, the development of energy and digital infrastructure, as well as existing incentives and the legal framework for investors.

Following the forum, bilateral meetings were held among the participants, during which specific investment projects and opportunities for cooperation with infrastructure funds, data center operators, technology companies, and consulting organizations were discussed.
