ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association, Asif Javed, stated that following the ongoing war in the Middle East, the rising energy prices have significantly increased the importance of solar energy in Pakistan. He emphasized that to promote solar energy, the implementation of net metering, further tax incentives, and easier financing schemes should be made more effective so that a larger number of people can benefit from this facility.
He added that the continuous increase in electricity and gas prices in Pakistan after the recent war situation has pushed domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers toward alternative energy sources, with solar energy emerging as the most effective and sustainable solution. He further stated that if the government takes serious measures, Pakistan can not only achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector but also significantly reduce environmental pollution through the use of eco-friendly energy.
