Islamabad- President Islamabad Tyres Association (ITA) Riyaz Khan has said that residents of Engineers Cooperative Housing Society (ECHS), D-18, are still waiting for the resolution of their long-standing issues. Despite the approval of the society’s Layout Plan (LOP) in 2005, less than 15 percent of the society has been populated to date, primarily due to the numerous basic problems faced by residents.

He said that members face serious difficulties at the society’s office in getting their legitimate matters resolved. He called for the replacement of General Manager Mirza Muhammad Aslam and urged that a new person be appointed to the position, alleging that members are unnecessarily harassed by administrative staff at the office.

Riyaz Khan further said that residents face considerable difficulties in obtaining vehicle stickers at the Sangjani Toll Plaza. From approval of building maps to issuance of completion certificates, members have to go through unnecessary delays and difficulties at various stages.

He pointed out that there is still no proper commercial area in the society where residents can easily access everyday necessities. Similarly, the society lacks adequate medical/health facilities, a community center and other basic amenities. He added that the security system is also unsatisfactory, due to which residents do not feel completely safe.
