WNAM REPORT: Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association, Asif Javed, has expressed serious concern over the exclusion of real stakeholders during the formulation of alternative energy policies by NEPRA and other relevant institutions.

He stated that a formal letter has been sent to NEPRA and concerned authorities, highlighting that practical, on-ground stakeholders are often not even invited during the policymaking process. As a result, policies are developed that are neither workable nor aligned with the government’s own past decisions.

He emphasized that for the promotion of renewable energy, it is indispensable to include individuals and organizations that are actively engaged in the sector. Asif Javed noted that the solar energy sector in Pakistan is growing rapidly and offers vast investment opportunities. However, if policies are formulated without considering ground realities and without consultation with stakeholders, it will have negative consequences.

He warned that such an approach would not only undermine investor confidence but could also slow down the growth of renewable energy in the country.
