13th meeting of transport ministers of SCO countries held in Bishkek

WNAM REPORT: As part of the international transport forum “Kyrgyzstan – Regional Hub: Connecting Continents”, currently taking place in Bishkek, the 13th meeting of transport ministers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states has been organized, Kabar reports.

Opening the session, Talantbek Soltobaev, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that the forum serves as an important platform for developing practical solutions and strengthening multilateral cooperation. According to him, over the SCO’s 25 years of existence, significant work has been carried out to develop transport links, and Kyrgyzstan is ready to continue actively participating in joint projects, including developing multimodal routes and attracting investment.

The meeting is attended by heads of transport authorities from Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the Organization’s Secretary-General.

It is expected that following the meeting, a draft regulation establishing a special working group to develop cooperation among SCO member states in the transport sector will be approved.
