WNAM REPORT: President of the Islamabad Tyres Association (ITA), Riaz Khan, has stated that in the upcoming budget, the import of tyres should be made easier to help bring stability to the market and promote economic activity. He said that increased import duties, lengthy clearance procedures, and the complex NOC system have led to a significant rise in costs.
He added that inconsistency in import policies is not only affecting investment but is also increasing the risk of a shortage of tyres in the market. He urged the government to consult stakeholders on import policies, ensure a balance in duties and taxes, and simplify the clearance process.
