(WNAM Monitoring): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, led by Imran Khan, has declared itself victorious in the Pakistan elections and has warned that if election results are not announced, they will launch nationwide peaceful protests.
Reuters reported on Sunday, February 11, about the readiness of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members under Imran’s leadership to form a new government in Pakistan.
Hammad Azhar, the caretaker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Punjab province, emphasized the need to preserve the “sacred trust” of the people’s votes and stated that protests will be held across Pakistan.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League, led by Nawaz Sharif, also claims victory in the country’s elections and is set to form a “coalition government” with the People’s Party led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Meanwhile, although the final results of the elections have not yet been announced, according to preliminary results, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party has won the most seats in the country’s parliament.
However, the President of Pakistan attributes the delay in announcing the election results to the lack of electronic voting machines and vote counting.
Previously, hundreds of supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party in various cities of the country, including Peshawar, have staged protests.
The provincial and parliamentary elections in Pakistan were held last Thursday, but their final results have not yet been announced, leading to concerns about the political situation in the country.
