Since 1995 Pakistan hockey team hasn’t won any worthwhile international hockey tournament whereas from 1948 upto 1990 Pakistani hockey team used to reach victory stand in every major International hockey championship. This means there is something inherent wrong in the way. PHF has been conducting hockey affairs because as far as talent is concerned there has been no paucity on that score.
In the not too distant past a number of hockey tournaments were held in various parts of the country round the year which threw up fresh talent. Many institutions like PIA, Pakistan Customs, Railways
had raised their own teams which contested these tournaments. The Pakistan football Association also supervised football tournaments throughout the country which are sadly missing since long. If Pakistan has been able to maintain its number one position in squash in the world it is only because its management is in the hands of the PAF.
