Harare(WNAM Monitoring): The ruling Zanu PF politburo convened on Monday to discuss modalities of burying three of it’s cadres who died within a week and were declared national heroes.

Party national spokesperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa told media that President Emmerson Mnangagwa had expressed high esteem for the three saying they had played significant roles in the development of their country.

The trio include Brigadier General Shadrek Vezha, Nash Dzimiri and Grace Tsitsi Jadagu.

“Cde Vezha was a promising young General who was headed to a posting in Tanzania who died in a head on accident involving two military vehicles in Battlefields, Kwekwe.

“He is indeed an example of young and patriotic cadres committed to the development of this nation,” said Mutsvangwa.

He said Dzimiri’s contribution in the liberation of Zimbabwe was immense.

“Cde Dzimiri served in the high command of Zanla forces and also fought in the frontline with exceptional discipline and dedication,” he said.

Mutsvangwa revealed that while the extra ordinary Politburo session was meant to deliberate on cdes Vezha and Dzimiri, it also learnt of the untimely death of Cde Jadagu, who was unanimously declared a national heroin by the party’s highest decision making body.

“It was with great pain that while coming to deliberate on cdes Dzimiri and Vezha, President Mnangagwa learnt of the untimely death of Cde Jadagu.

“She played significant roles just after the country’s independence in party elections and will be remembered for being instrumental in popularizing the party in urban areas.

“Of note, she campaigned so hard and saw the party snatching Bishop Muzorewa’s traditional seat in parliament,” said Mutsvangwa.

He added that Jadagu , who served as a Senator in 2014, was a member of the Zapu youth who stood against the Ian Smith-led colonial regime.

“This means we will be having three burials for these cadres next Monday, this time will be used to workout proper arrangements and coordinations.

“President Mnangagwa said all distinguished gallant sons and daughters of the Nation will continue being recognized according by the Second Republic,” said Mutsvangwa .
