TASHKENT ( WNAM MONITORING ): President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari received a delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov.
“It was a great pleasure to be received by H.E. Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan”, Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov wrote in his telegram channel. “Extended heartfelt greetings from the President of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev. We stand committed to enhancing Uzbekistan – Pakistan ties, aimed at harnessing the significant untapped potential within our bilateral relationships.
The agenda of our meeting covered extensive topics, highlighting significant opportunities in economic diplomacy. We encourage stronger collaboration between our agencies and private sectors”.
The visiting Foreign Minister also called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif. The minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Views were exchanged on taking relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan to a new level, huge prospects for bilateral and regional cooperation, and interaction within international organizations.
Readiness was expressed to deepen comprehensive cooperation to enhance economic, investment, interparliamentary, cultural ties, and public diplomacy.
In his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar the parties discussed intensifying political and economic dialogue and enhancing cooperation in all sectors. They noted a readiness to develop trusting ties in all areas.
It was emphasized that the visit to Pakistan is essential since it takes place on the eve of the 32nd anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan planted a tree to symbolize the desire to strengthen friendship and partnership between the two countries and peoples.
