WNAM MONITORING: During the negotiations, the ministers of health of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.
One of the key issues was the discussion of the possibility of importing high-quality and inexpensive medicines produced at a joint Turkmen-Indian plant for the production of antibiotics into the Kyrgyz market.
The issue of developing the production of medicinal clay, mined on the shores of the Caspian Sea, as well as in Kyrgyzstan, was also considered. The Minister of Health of Turkmenistan shared his experience of using medicinal clay in medical practice and proposed to establish cooperation in this area.
In addition, the possibility of supplying pharmaceuticals and medical equipment to Kyrgyzstan from Turkmen manufacturers was discussed.
The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in deepening the partnership with Turkmenistan and emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and technologies to improve the healthcare system of both countries.
The meeting of the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev with the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Myrat Mammedov took place on May 26 in Geneva, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the World Health Assembly.
