ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has earned 2.593 billion U.S. dollars through IT exports in July-April, the first 10 months of the ongoing fiscal year 2023-24, officials from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Monday.
The country earned 2.135 billion dollars through the provision of IT services in July-April of the last fiscal year 2022-23, showing a growth of 21.45 percent in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, according to PBS officials.
Among the computer services, the exports of software consultancy increased 10.8 percent whereas the hardware consultancy surged by 19.24 percent during the cited period, as compared to the same period of fiscal year 2022-23, the PBS said.
Among the information services, the exports of news agency services surged by 167.58 percent whereas the exports of other information-related services increased by 16.83 percent.
Among the telecommunication services, the exports of call center services increased by 17.59 percent during the months cited, while the exports of other telecommunication services fell by 1.56 percent, the PBS said.
