WNAM REPORT: A delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov visited Manila, where political consultations with the Philippine side took place, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The key outcome of the visit was the signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines on political consultations”.
During the meetings, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including political and diplomatic interaction, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian partnership. Particular attention was paid to the development of ties in the fields of energy, transport, logistics and agriculture.
The diplomats stressed the importance of maintaining regular high-level contacts and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening Turkmen-Philippine relations. The parties also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
During the visit, A. Gurbanov met with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique Manalo, where they confirmed their mutual intention to intensify bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan held talks with the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Jude Aguliar.The visit of the Turkmen delegation to the Philippines continues.
