WNAM MONITORING: By order of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a group of athletes and coaches of the Kazakhstani national team have been presented with state awards for high sports accomplishments during the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Yeldos Smetov, who won the first-ever Olympic judo gold medal in the history of Kazakhstan at the 2024 Paris Games, was awarded the Barys Order of Class One.
Yuri Melnichenko, a coach at the Sports Promotion Directorate of the Sports and Physical Culture Committee of the Tourism and Sport Ministry of Kazakhstan, received the Barys Order of Class Three.
The Parasat Order was presented to Galymzhan Dzhilgeldiyev, Askar Yerkebayev, Demeu Zhadrayev, Alexander Kim, Boranbek Konyratov, Nariman Kurbanov, Khussanzhan Kurbanov, Gusman Kyrgyzbayev, Nurbek Oralbay, Nurbol Suleimenov.
Among the recipients of the Qurmet Order are Almaz Alssenov, Dolkunzhan Kamekov, Nazym Kyzaibay, Alexandra Le, Yermek Nassiyev, Gennady Nassonov, Islam Satpayev, and Veronika Skiba.
Head coach of the country’s shooting team Olga Dovgun and assistant to the President of the International Judo Federation Askhat Zhitkeyev received letters of appreciation.
