WNAM MONITORING: During the visit, Hero-Arkadag, along with several leaders, discussed important matters related to the development of the new city and upcoming tasks.
Currently, the “smart” city, whose construction was initiated by the National Leader, is undergoing harmonious and comprehensive development. The successful organization of the city, based on the latest scientific achievements and international experience, is evidenced by Arkadag receiving international certificates and prestigious awards. This highlights the ongoing implementation of Hero-Arkadag’s vision under the leadership of Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Arkadagly Hero.
Early in the morning, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Arkadag City, which was built following the “smart city” concept, incorporating modern urban planning trends and national architectural principles.
The National Leader discussed the development of the city and the solutions for upcoming tasks with the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of Arkadag, G. Mammedova.
The discussions emphasized the importance of fulfilling President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s directives regarding the comprehensive development of Arkadag City within the framework of the “President’s Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028,” as outlined during an expanded Cabinet of Ministers session in 2023.
It was noted that a “Concept for the Development of Arkadag City for 2024-2052” has been proposed by Hero-Arkadag and is currently being worked on for approval. This concept outlines key development tasks for the city across all sectors.
Hero-Arkadag stressed that the city’s development should be based on modern science and innovative technologies to ensure it meets the advanced standards of contemporary cities. He also highlighted the importance of considering the local environment and maintaining its ecological balance in future construction projects.
In this regard, the National Leader submitted the “Concept for the Development of Arkadag City for 2024-2052” to the Halk Maslahaty and emphasized the need to present this program for approval by the President of Turkmenistan.
Additionally, the “Strategy for the Development of Science in Turkmenistan for 2024-2052” was discussed as part of the city’s development plan.
The forum also touched on Turkmenistan’s initiative, supported by the UN General Assembly, to declare 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. This decision is significant for ensuring global peace and security and reflects Turkmenistan’s strong international standing.
Other topics discussed included the importance of creating modern educational centers throughout the country, including in Arkadag, and equipping them with the latest technologies to enhance youth education.
Hero-Arkadag noted that 2025, the International Year of Peace and Trust, should be filled with meaningful events and outlined plans for organizing international activities.
The recent Investment Forum in Ashgabat, which focused on attracting advanced technologies and foreign investments to Turkmenistan, was highlighted, particularly for the development of industrial complexes and a medical cluster in Arkadag City.
In his remarks, Hero-Arkadag also stressed the importance of ensuring the timely completion of the second phase of Arkadag City and called for efforts to educate the youth in digital systems and intellectual property. He emphasized the role of sports and cultural activities in promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a new generation of athletes.
In conclusion, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the electric buses operating in Arkadag City, underlining the need for them to meet international comfort and technical standards. He suggested improvements in service quality and design, as well as the use of modern advertising on the buses.
