WNAM REPORT: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on holding events to mark 2025, which has been declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.
As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the year will be marked by celebrations and events aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting the principles of peace and trust.
According to the decree:
1. The Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, ministries and industry departments, political parties and public organizations of Turkmenistan shall ensure that celebrations and events to mark 2025 – the “International Year of Peace and Trust” are held at a high level and in an organized manner.
2. Create an Organizing State Committee for holding celebrations and events to mark 2025 – the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and approve its composition.
3. In order to strengthen the legal foundations of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, based on the principles of peace and trust, during 2025 – the “International Year of Peace and Trust” – the Mejlis of Turkmenistan shall, in the established manner, consider the issues of developing relevant regulatory legal acts.
4. The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan shall ensure the preparation, adoption, implementation and control of decisions related to organizational, legal and financial issues for holding high-level celebrations and events on the occasion of 2025 – the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.
5. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, in close cooperation with the United Nations and other international organizations on the occasion of the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, shall carry out the necessary work throughout 2025 to implement a set of international events.
