The ANP is certainly poorer with the demise of its stalwart Ilyas Bilore in Peshawar due to renal failure the other day. He belonged to the famous business Bilore family of Peshawar which include Ghulam Ahmad Bilore and late Bashir Ahmad Bilore. This family is the mainstay of the ANP in Peshawar and was held in high esteem by Bacha khan as well as by his son Abdul Wali Khan. Their political loyalty with Bacha Khan was unquestionable. SM Ayub and Haji Adeel were another two notable persons of Peshawar who were staunch followers of Bacha Khan Haji Adeel was son of Hakim jalil a very close associate of Bacha Khan.
In otherwise tense atmosphere created in the country by poisonous smog two public statements of Bilawal Bhutto and chief minister of Indian Panjab in the matter provided a comic relief to the people of these two countries.
Bilawal had said if the people living in Panjab and KPK are troubled by smog they had better come to Karachi while the CM of Indian Panjab said that people of Delhi say smog is coming to them from Indian Panjab and Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Panjab says it is coming from India’s Panjab to Lahore.
Does it mean the smog is circling? he quipped .But for non-availability of required patch of cloud essential for artificial rain or precipitation it could not be arranged despite great efforts of the concerned experts.
Smog has affected a big number of children in the country therefore it will need herculean effort on the part of powers that be for a number of years to evolve a preventive system so that history doesn’t repeat itself again and this country is saved of this menace.
