ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): The commencement of direct flights from Tashkent to Lahore starting November 29th has been welcomed by Atif Ikram Shaikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), and Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
This new air link is expected to strengthen bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, promoting economic and trade activities, as well as regional economic integration.
The direct flight operation, facilitated by Uzbekistan’s national flag carrier, Uzbek Airways, will initially operate weekly, with plans to increase frequency in the coming months. This development has been hailed as a significant step forward in fostering economic cooperation between the two countries.
They expressed the hope that one flight in a week from Tashkent , the industrial hub of Central Asian States, to Lahore, would help enhance economic and trade activities and regional economic integration.
Both Atif Ikram Shaikh and Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, the prominent business leaders added that the Uzbekistan embassy in Islamabad deserves sincere appreciations for the launch of this important hallmark.
