(WNAM Monitoring): Representatives of the aviation departments of Turkmenistan and Japan held a meeting in Tokyo to discuss the establishment of direct flights between the two countries.
The parties signed a package of documents following the meeting, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reported on Sunday.
The economic delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Rahymberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, visited Tokyo from December 13 to 16 this year. Within the visit’s framework, representatives from Turkmenistan and Japan’s aviation departments discussed establishing direct flights between the two countries.
Within the framework of the visit, representatives of the Turkmen delegation held several vital events, including joint meetings with members of the Japan-Turkmen Committee on Economic Cooperation, bilateral talks with heads of Japanese government agencies, organisations and financial institutions, and leading Japanese companies.
During the meetings, the Turkmen delegation also discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements and new opportunities for developing cooperation in the energy sector on the path to carbon neutrality. As a result of the visit, the Turkmen delegation and their counterparts signed several documents.
