WNAM REPORT: Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev met with the Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Lakshmi Kanth Rao in Mumbai.
The head of the diplomatic mission spoke about the ongoing, consistent reforms in the banking and financial system of Uzbekistan, its improvement in accordance with international standards, and ensuring the active participation of banks in the process of renewal in the socio-economic life of the country.
The parties discussed issues of further strengthening relations between the central banks of the two countries, studying the experience of implementing the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system in India, opening correspondent accounts of Uzbekistan banks in leading Indian commercial banks, implementing direct transactions and other pressing issues.
