WNAM REPORT: Member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, Lord John Alderdice, has been appointed as the UK’s trade envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, as per reports, citing the UK Department for Business and Trade.
The UK Minister for Trade today announced the appointments for the global development team. The newly appointed 32 trade envoys will work to enhance the UK’s export and investment potential to promote economic growth as part of the government’s reform plan. As part of this appointment, Lord John Alderdice will serve as the UK’s trade envoy for Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
Lord Alderdice is a Northern Irish politician who has held various prestigious positions. He served as the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly from 1998 to 2004.
