Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING ): Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, handed over the keys to subsidized houses for 100 workers during the International Labor Day commemoration at Pertamina University, Jakarta, on Thursday.
“Today, I symbolically hand over 100 keys to subsidized houses for workers,” he said during the event.
Sirait informed that his ministry is targeting to provide 20 thousand subsidized homes for Indonesian workers.
According to the minister, the provision of quality subsidized housing at affordable prices under the housing financing liquidity facility (FLPP) could help workers be more enthusiastic about their work and improve their welfare.
He said that the housing provision program for workers is the result of collaboration and synergy between the Ministry of PKP and the Ministry of Manpower, and has the full support of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and BP Tapera.
On that occasion, he expressed optimism about the three million houses program improving the Indonesian economy.
To achieve the target, various breakthroughs and innovations must be pursued, and collaboration must be carried out between various parties to build and renovate people’s houses, he emphasized.
“This subsidized housing program for workers is concrete evidence of the government’s effort to provide decent housing. Subsidies will continue to be distributed,” Sirait informed.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of BP Tapera, Heru Pudyo Nugroho, said that the 20 thousand subsidized homes for workers are spread across the country.
“The locations of subsidized houses for workers are in Batang, Pasuruan, Makassar, Palembang, and various cities in Indonesia,” he informed.
“Workers who are interested in owning subsidized houses can take advantage of FLPP mortgages to pay off their houses at low prices and affordable installments,” he added.
