WNAM REPORT: Acting Hokim of Samarkand region, Adiz Boboyev, met with the Ambassadors of Uzbekistan to the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Republic of Belarus.

The regional leader provided detailed information on the existing opportunities, infrastructure, and logistics to accelerate trade, economic, and investment cooperation with foreign countries. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in education and the exchange of best practices.

The meeting included exchanging views on implementing promising programs in trade and economic relations, tourism, and agriculture.

At the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus, Rakhmatulla Nazarov, proposed several initiatives to expand the partnership between Samarkand region and Belarus. Among the most promising projects discussed were establishing joint clusters for dairy production and agricultural machinery manufacturing, exporting melons from Samarkand to the Belarusian market, and developing logistics infrastructure. Discussions also covered student exchange programs between universities, collaboration on scientific research, and the launch of direct flights on the Minsk – Samarkand route.

“It is essential to widely promote the tourism potential and available opportunities of Samarkand region in the Sultanate of Oman”, said Abdusalom Khatamov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Sultanate of Oman. “Oman is strongly interested in our country’s historical and cultural monuments and sacred sites. Launching regular or seasonal charter flights on the Muscat – Samarkand route would open up great opportunities. Organizing info tours for Omani tour operators and developing travel packages for this market would also yield positive results”.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Kuwait, Ayubkhon Yunusov, proposed the establishment of a Kuwaiti Business Center in Samarkand, as well as the financing of infrastructure, road construction, water supply, and healthcare projects in the region through a Kuwaiti fund. Suggestions were also made regarding the launch of joint educational programs in Islamic studies, law, and medicine in collaboration with universities in Kuwait.

Based on the proposals put forward during the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a roadmap for implementation. The ambassadors also expressed their readiness to support the further development of mutually beneficial relations between Samarkand region and foreign countries and to assist in attracting investors.
