The recent sojourn of US by our Army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Monir has been successful from many angles. First ,through his speeches face to face to a cross section Americans he was able to nail the canard of Indian propaganda against Pakistan and put the Americans wise to many issues. Secondly, he exposed that element inside Pakistan also which has been slinging mud on our Armed forces through the so-called social media under the garb of freedom of expression. He has been able to counter effectively Indian propaganda against Pakistan on many issues on which the Indian lobby in the US has been trying to mislead American people.
All in all, it was a fruitful exercise. A foreign army chief rarely gets such a good public response from a cross-section of people in the US, which he had the opportunity to address during his recent visit to Washington.

The common man in Pakistan is happy that a sizable money has been allocated in the new budget by the government for the defence forces of the country, as he is mindful of the fact that Pakistan’s arch foe India is quite capable of stabbing us in the back. We ought to buy the latest armory to face any such eventuality.
