ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is set to host a crucial Monday Seminar titled “Sugar Crisis in Pakistan: Causes, Consequences and Cure” on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the SDPI Conference Hall and via Zoom.
As sugar prices surge and market instability deepens, this hybrid seminar will bring together government officials, industry experts, academics, civil society representatives, and journalists to unpack the structural causes of the ongoing sugar crisis. Discussions will focus on production trends, policy failures, market manipulation, and potential cartelization within the sugar industry.
SDPI’s policy researchers will also share evidence-based recommendations for reforming the sugar sector, enhancing transparency, and protecting consumers from future shocks.
Open to public participation both in-person and online, the seminar invites stakeholders and concerned citizens to join the dialogue and contribute to shaping long-term solutions for one of Pakistan’s most persistent economic and governance challenges.
