WNAM REPORT: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during a recent Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, signed a decree on pardoning 247 citizens in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust, according to official Turkmen media.
Secretary of the State Security Council and Chairman of the Commission on Citizenship and Pardons, Begench Gundogdyyev, reported on the Commission’s work regarding the pardoning of convicted individuals.
After hearing the report, the Head of State ordered the necessary measures to be taken for the release of those pardoned. President Berdimuhamedov instructed the Commission, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, to ensure the swift return of the pardoned citizens to their families.
The President of Turkmenistan wished the citizens released from detention to contribute honorably through honest work to the large-scale initiatives being carried out in the country, to serve the Motherland, and to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
The government meeting also addressed various state affairs.
