ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched an Integrated Grievance Management System (iGMS) to ensure a unified and transparent grievance lifecycle — from complaint registration to resolution — for its beneficiaries. Developed with the technical support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the system reinforces BISP’s commitment to accountability and improved service delivery for Pakistan’s most deserving families.
The iGMS was formally launched at the BISP One Window Facilitation Center, Islamabad, where President ADB, Masato Kanda, inaugurated the system by touching the screen during his visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation. Chairperson BISP, Senator Rubina Khalid, and Secretary BISP, Amer Ali Ahmad, were also present at the occasion.
The delegation was welcomed by the Chairperson and Secretary BISP. Distinguished members included Ms. Emma Fan, Country Director ADB; Keiichiro Inui, Chief Advisor to President ADB; John Juhyun Jeong, Senior Advisor to President ADB; Ms. Leah C. Gutierrez, Director General CWRD ADB; Noor Ahmed, Executive Director ADB; Mansoor Ali Masood, Sr. Project Officer SG-HSD; Ms. Sabina Qureshi, Additional Secretary and Miran Mohiyuddin Soomro, Senior Joint Secretary EAD.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that BISP is not only a financial support mechanism but also a platform for the socio-economic empowerment of women. She said, “Making CNIC mandatory for registration gave women an identity, and declaring women as heads of households reflects the revolutionary vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.” She further shared that facilities such as Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs), Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, Benazir Nashonuma Awareness Counters, Payment Services, and the Hybrid Social Protection Scheme are being streamlined under the One Window model to maximize impact.
Secretary BISP, Amer Ali Ahmad, briefed the delegation on core programmes, newly launched initiatives, and upcoming reforms of BISP. He highlighted how the One Window Service is making beneficiary access more convenient, transparent, and efficient.
The delegation also visited and reviewed the different service counters under the One Window and interacted with beneficiaries. During the visit, President ADB, Mr. Masato Kanda, met with school children enrolled under Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, spoke with their families, and inquired about the impact of BISP support on their lives.
The delegation appreciated the quality services, transparency, and accessibility being provided to beneficiaries at the BISP One Window Center. The event concluded with the presentation of a souvenir by Chairperson BISP, Senator Rubina Khalid, to the President ADB as a token of appreciation for ADB’s longstanding support.
