ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met today with Board Member of the HAZZA Institute of Technology, Mr. Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha, and Managing Director, Mr. Azhar Ikbal Sindhu, at BISP Headquarters to discuss a collaborative pilot initiative for skill training of BISP beneficiaries under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme.
The proposed pilot aims to provide high-quality, internationally certified vocational training to an initial batch of 50 BISP beneficiaries in the areas of Construction, Hospitality, and Healthcare, coupled with essential soft skills such as work ethics, behavior, and personal hygiene.
Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the critical need for skill training that translates into real employment opportunities both within Pakistan and abroad. She stated that we must ensure that these trainings are of international standards, equipping our beneficiaries with the skills to contribute effectively to the workforce and uplift their families.
Following the meeting, Senator Rubina Khalid, accompanied by the Benazir Hunarmand team, visited the HAZZA Institute of Technology where she was given a detailed briefing by MD Azhar Ikbal Sindhu and Mr. Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha. They showcased the institute’s operational framework, ongoing training modules, and performance metrics.
During her tour, Senator Rubina Khalid interacted with trainees currently undergoing hands-on training in trades including plumbing, electrical work, welding, cyber technology, driving, and Korean language. While encouraging the trainees, she remarked that you are the ambassadors of Pakistan. Your recognition is your country. Respect your elders, adopt ethics and tolerance. Make your country proud. Despite political or religious affiliations, be united for Pakistan’s progress. Senator Rubina Khalid conveyed her best wishes to the trainees and expressed confidence in their potential to represent Pakistan on global platforms.
At the end, Mr. Azhar Ikbal Sindhu, presented a souvenir to Senator Rubina Khalid in appreciation of her leadership and vision for skills-based empowerment under BISP.
