Chairperson BISP holds key meetings

KARACHI ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Senator Rubina Khalid participated in the 100th meeting of the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board held in Karachi today. The meeting was chaired by the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan.
During the meeting, important decisions were taken regarding the administrative and maintenance affairs of the Mazar-e-Quaid. Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the need for joint efforts to preserve Pakistan’s national heritage and uphold the sanctity of the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation.
Later, the Chairperson visited the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA), where she was warmly received by Chairman STEVTA, Mr. Junaid Buland. The two sides held an extensive discussion on strengthening collaboration between BISP and STEVTA for skill development and vocational training initiatives.
Chairperson Rubina Khalid appreciated STEVTA’s efforts, stating, “Developing skilled youth is the cornerstone of economic empowerment. BISP aims to help its deserving beneficiaries achieve employability through skill training.”
Chairman STEVTA, Mr. Junaid Buland, reaffirmed his institution’s commitment, saying, “We fully support BISP’s mission. STEVTA will extend all possible resources to enhance skill development and employment opportunities for BISP beneficiaries.”
The Chairperson also visited the BISP Regional Office in Karachi, where she lauded the dedication and performance of officers and staff, acknowledging their contribution in serving poor and deserving women across Sindh. She said that their work was not only a national service but also a noble act of compassion.
Senator Rubina Khalid assured that BISP fully stands by its honest and hardworking officers and will continue to provide them with all necessary support and protection. She reiterated that transparency and accountability remain the guiding principles of BISP, and any irregularity or misconduct at any level will be investigated fairly and dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
