Reports are that Pentagon and White House both are once again trying to cuddle up to Pakistan. It is not difficult to discern why is this change of heart on their part?
After the conclusion of second world war the Yankees were up against the Soviet union and after a long period of cold war against communism which was their bete noire they finally succeeded in dismembering Soviet union and declaring the world as unipolar. Little did they, however, know that a new super power in the form of China is shaping up which will one day overshadow them in terms of science and technology as well political influence on many countries of the globe.
There is no gainsaying the fact that in the past Americans have used us against Soviet union which marred our relations with Moscow for a long long time. Once bitten twice shy. We should take a lesson from the past and let it be known to Washington that while we want to have bilateral relationship with it in all fields of life it should not expect us to be a party in any scheme or project which damaged China in any way. While one can change friends one can’t change neighbors. China is our next door neighbor and
through thick it had stood by us in our hour of need. we simply cannot even think of parting ways with it or becoming a party in any thing which affect its interests.
