WNAM MONITORING: From September 21 to 26 of this year, the International Scientific-Combat Training Competitions were held for the third time at the Army Training and Education Command in Inje, Gangwon province, Republic of Korea.

The competition brought together 16 teams and around 500 military personnel from the Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, the United States, New Zealand, Cambodia, and a joint NATO team.

According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense, at the initial stage of the competition, each team developed an operational plan, carried out national coordination tasks, and successfully enhanced their skills and experience necessary for conducting joint operations among units.

Following a draw, the teams proceeded to the competitive stages. According to the competition rules, participants completed 12 stages of simulated combat operations in mountainous, forested, and urban terrains, utilizing various combat simulators and scientifically based training programs.

The evaluation of completed tasks was based on the following criteria: full execution of missions, compliance with combat rules, effectiveness in neutralizing simulated enemies, survivability in both offensive and defensive scenarios, tactical soundness of actions, and communication adapted to battlefield conditions.

Notably, the Uzbek military personnel set new records during the competition: capturing the simulated enemy’s reserve and main command post took only 21 minutes (the previous record was 33 minutes), and neutralizing the enemy in a defensive scenario was achieved in 25 minutes (previously 29 minutes).

In addition, Sergeant Third Class Bekzod Nodirov showed the highest performance in the enemy elimination task and was named “Best Shooter” of the competition.

Thus, the team from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan once again achieved the highest result and took first place this year in the International Scientific-Combat Training Competitions. It is worth noting that Uzbekistan’s military personnel also held the top position in the previous two years of these competitions.
