WNAM REPORT: Foundation University Islamabad celebrated its Convocation Ceremony at the Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH), honoring graduates from BDS Session 2021–2024, DPT Spring & Fall 2020, and MS (MSKPT & NPT) Spring & Fall 2023 programs.
Lt Gen Arshad Naseem, HI (M), Surgeon General of Pakistan Army, graced the event as Chief Guest. He was joined by Maj Gen Muhammad Kaleem Asif, HI (M) (Retd), Rector FUI, and Maj Gen Prof. Dr Qudrat Ullah Malik, HI (M) (Retd), Director FUSH and Principal FUMC, along with senior leadership, faculty, parents, and distinguished guests.
A total of 205 degrees were conferred — 49 in BDS, 97 in DPT, 31 in MS (MSKPT), and 28 in MS (NPT) — accompanied by 11 gold medals, 12 silver medals, 42 distinction certificates, and 49 merit certificates, celebrating academic brilliance and excellence in healthcare education.
Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Prof. Dr Qudrat Ullah Malik congratulated the graduates and their families, highlighting milestone achievements including FUCD’s 93% PMDC accreditation score and expansion of student intake, as well as FUCP’s World Physiotherapy accreditation, the launch of its first PhD program, and successful international academic collaborations.
He emphasized the essence of compassionate healthcare, noting that while technology empowers, “true healing begins when a patient feels understood.”
In his address, the Chief Guest, Lt Gen Arshad Naseem, lauded the university’s rapid progress and academic vision. Paying tribute to faculty and parents, he encouraged graduates to enter the professional world with competence, humility, and dedication. Inspiring them to lead with purpose, he quoted,
“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
The ceremony concluded with a presentation of a commemorative shield to the Chief Guest, marking a day of pride, inspiration, and celebration for graduates, their families, and the Foundation University community.
