ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The 42nd Anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was celebrated in Islamabad on Friday. The dignified ceremony was attended by diplomats, government officials, members of the Turkish Cypriot community and media persons. The celebration featured the national anthems of both Pakistan and the TRNC. The event witnessed the presence of diplomats and local dignitaries highlighting the significance of the occasion and reaffirming the country’s standing on the global stage.
TRNC Ambassador in Islamabad Ms. Buket Kop took pride in highlighting the substantial progress the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had achieved in various domains, including democracy, economy, social equality and human rights.
On behalf of the Turkish Cypriot People, she reiterated gratitude to motherland, Republic of Turkiye, for its unwavering support to TRNC as well as the brotherly state of Pakistan for all-time support in the cause.
Naeem Cheema from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Türkiye Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, TRNC Ambassador Ms. Buket Kop, Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and others jointly cut the celebratory cake to mark the occasion. The ceremony concluded with expressions of solidarity and hopes for peace, stability, and development in the region.
