ISLAMABAD (WNAM REPORT): The Pakistani and Indonesian armies on Wednesday concluded their 12-day joint counter-terror exercises in Indonesia.

Combat teams from the Pakistani and Indonesian armies “successfully achieved” all training objectives during the Shaheen Strike-II exercise, according to a statement released by the Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The joint training was “aimed at refining drills, procedures, and techniques involved in counterterrorism operations, with particular emphasis on operations in built-up areas and counter-improvised explosive device measures,” as well as further strengthening “the longstanding military-to-military cooperation between the two friendly countries,” it said.

Indonesia’s Major General of Infantry Division 1 Kostrad, Brigadier Novi Rubadi Sugito, said the exercise also served as a strategic platform for exchanging experiences, enhancing soldier professionalism, and strengthening military-to-military cooperation between the Indonesian Army and the Pakistan Army, reported Indonesia Defense Magazine.

He said that the drill was “not only a means of strengthening ties” but also a significant step in strengthening stability and peace in the region, particularly in South and Southeast Asia.
