WNAM Monitoring: Leyla Hasanova is appointed as a Youth Climate Champion for COP29 Azerbaijan.
Leyla Hasanova earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a master’s degree in Public Administration from ADA University. She also participated in an academic exchange program in Politics and International Relations at Kadir Has University in Türkiye.
Throughout her studies, Leyla conducted research and analysis on several topics, including climate change, sustainable development, renewable energy resources, youth, gender, and climate resilience.
She has also successfully graduated from the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), attending courses such as “Thought Leadership Course – Synergizing Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation,” “The Youth, Peace, and Security,” and “Digital4Sustainability Learning Path.”
Leyla Hasanova has previously worked as a Program Coordinator at the Institute for Development and Diplomacy, where she was responsible for managing executive education programs for corporate sectors and government agencies.
Currently, Leyla is serving as the Head of the Secretariat at the NAM Youth Organization.
