ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz Basra, Member of the Elder Council of the Islamabad Estate Agents Association and Chairman of the Overseas Committee of ICCI, has stated that investor-friendly policies and a one-window operation are essential for the promotion of overseas investment. He emphasized that effective implementation of a one-window facility for overseas investors must be ensured, where registration, tax matters, NOCs, and other legal requirements are handled on a single platform.
He said that overseas investors are the backbone of Pakistan’s economy; however, policy inconsistency, bureaucratic hurdles, and legal complexities have become major obstacles to investment. Nawaz Basra added that overseas Pakistanis have a strong emotional attachment to their homeland, and if they are provided with a secure, transparent, and profitable investment environment, they have the capacity to make substantial investments in various sectors, particularly real estate, industry, IT, tourism, and energy.
