(WNAM EXCLUSIVE): President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev is scheduled to pay an official visit to Pakistan on February 3, 2026, marking a significant milestone in regional connectivity and economic cooperation. The visit is set to culminate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the ambitious Pakistan–Kazakhstan Rail Connectivity Project, a strategic initiative aimed at reshaping trade, transport, and economic linkages across Central and South Asia.
Valued at approximately USD 7 billion, the Pakistan–Kazakhstan Rail Connectivity Project envisions the development of a modern railway network linking Pakistan with Kazakhstan via Afghanistan. The corridor will extend through Chaman, creating a comprehensive rail network that connects Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. Designed as a high-impact infrastructure venture, the project is expected to be completed within a record period of three years, reflecting the strong political will and shared economic vision of the participating countries.
