Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING): President Prabowo Subianto, during a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, affirmed Indonesia’s support for initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Palestine, including the 20-point peace plan proposed by the United States.
He highlighted the urgency of pursuing lasting peace in Palestine in the presence of King Abdullah at Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday afternoon local time.
At the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia’s support for international peace initiatives is rooted in its steadfast commitment to endorsing the two-state solution, which he described as the only viable path toward peaceful resolutions between Palestine and Israel.
“We were invited to join the Board of Peace and support President Trump’s 20-point peace plan. This stance stems from our determination to undertake every effort to the best of our ability in a bid to find a lasting peace solution,” he said.
Indonesia, he continued, is ready to play an active role in international forums to strengthen its diplomatic foothold with the aim of promoting conflict resolution in Palestine.
In this regard, the president sought intensified coordination with Jordan on the Palestinian issue, citing the country’s strategic geographical position.
He added that it is crucial for Indonesia and Jordan to deepen their synergy to closely monitor the situation and respond swiftly to developments in Palestine, particularly recent incidents in the West Bank, which he underscored as potential hurdles to ongoing peace efforts in Gaza.
Furthermore, Prabowo reinforced Indonesia’s commitment to supporting like-minded countries in fighting for the rights of the Palestinian people.
Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya accompanied the president during the diplomatic engagements in Amman.
