With the demise of ace singer Asha Bhonslay the other day a golden chapter of film music has come to an end. For over an half century this crooner enthralled the music lovers of the sub-continent through her lilting songs. She gave playback to almost all leading film heroines of Bollywood during the last half a century. A few months earlier her eldest sister Lata Mangesther too had kicked the bucket. Their youngest sister Usha Mangesther also sings for Bollywood films. Asha Bhonslay had inherited singing from her father Dinanath Mang who was himself a noted musician of his time.
