WNAM REPORT: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has established its Standing Committee on Alternate Energy, with Mehmoon Shafqat appointed as Chairman of the committee.
The inaugural meeting of the committee was attended by Chairman Mehmoon Shafqat, Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association Asif Javed, Tahir Alvi, Waheed Akram, Naqash Ahmed, Noor Badshah, Nadir Rabbani, Irfan Chaudhary, Anser Sahib, Attiq Gondal, Chaudhary Khalid, Zulqarnain Abbasi, and other members.
The meeting was chaired by ICCI Vice President Irfan Chaudhary, while ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood joined the session later.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss practical solutions to the key challenges facing the solar energy industry, formulate recommendations regarding the federal budget, and strengthen collaboration and coordination with government institutions through the ICCI platform.
The participants emphasized that the development of the alternate energy sector, resolution of the challenges confronting the solar industry, and stronger engagement with the government would help attract investment and promote business activities in the sector. The meeting also reached a consensus on the future roadmap and a set of practical recommendations to advance the committee’s objectives.
