ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The High Commissioner of Rwanda has said that Rwanda highly values its friendly relations with Pakistan and is keen to expand cooperation in trade, investment, healthcare, education, and technology.
She said this while talking to a visiting delegation comprising Chaudhry Waseem, Executive Member of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Adeel Yaqoob from the pharmaceutical sector, Dr. Muhammad Imran, Director of EduOak Consulting Firm, and Usman from the IT sector, which called on her to explore new avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in healthcare, education, technology, trade, and investment.
The High Commissioner appreciated the delegation’s proposals and welcomed initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration. She emphasized that Rwanda offers a conducive investment environment and encouraged greater engagement between the private sectors of the two countries. She expressed confidence that sustained interaction between the business communities of Pakistan and Rwanda would pave the way for meaningful partnerships, technology transfer, capacity building, and mutually beneficial investments, contributing to shared economic growth and prosperity.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted Pakistan’s growing strengths in pharmaceuticals, education, and digital innovation, emphasizing the importance of fostering stronger business-to-business and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Rwanda.
Representing Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector, Adeel Yaqoob proposed the establishment of a vaccine manufacturing facility and a RUP syringe manufacturing plant in Rwanda. He said the proposed initiatives would strengthen local healthcare manufacturing, improve regional medical supply chains, and create new opportunities for investment and industrial cooperation.
Dr. Muhammad Imran, Director of EduOak Consulting Firm, discussed prospects for collaboration in higher education, technical and vocational training, academic partnerships, research collaboration, and the establishment of educational institutions to support capacity building and human resource development in Rwanda.
Representing the IT sector, Mr. Usman showcased an AI-powered facial recognition solution and explored opportunities for collaboration in digital transformation, smart governance, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. He said technology partnerships could significantly enhance bilateral cooperation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chaudhry Waseem, Executive Member of ICCI, said that Pakistan and Rwanda enjoy cordial relations and possess immense untapped potential for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, healthcare, education, information technology, and industrial development. He reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to promoting business-to-business linkages, facilitating investment partnerships, and strengthening institutional collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to maintain close coordination and translate the discussions into practical collaborations that would contribute to sustainable economic growth and further strengthen Pakistan-Rwanda relations.
