Karachi ( WNAM REPORT): The D8 Health Summit 2026, organized under the leadership of Gerontologist Dr. Kemal Aydın, President of the Ibn Sina Institute and the World Ageing Council, will be held in collaboration with the Karachi Healthcare Expo & Conference from 23 to 25 July 2026 at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Held under the theme “Healthy and Age-Friendly D8 Countries”, the Summit will bring together policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, academics, and international organizations to discuss the future of healthcare, healthy ageing, preventive medicine, longevity, healthcare innovation, and health diplomacy across the D8 member countries.
As part of the Summit, Dr. Kemal Aydın will deliver the keynote address entitled “Global Health and Ageing Diplomacy: A Vision for the Future of D8 Countries.” The program will also introduce initiatives related to COP31, highlighting the importance of climate-resilient, healthy, and age-friendly cities.
Dr. Kemal Aydın, who graduated from Punjab University, Pakistan, in 1996, has been invited as the Honorary Guest of the Karachi Healthcare Expo & Conference and will serve as the President of the D8 Health Summit 2026.
Reflecting on this invitation, Dr. Aydın stated:
“Thirty years ago, as a young physician, I began the journey that led to the establishment of the Ibn Sina Institute and the World Ageing Council. Returning to Pakistan—my second home—as the Honorary Guest of this distinguished international event is a great honour and a deeply meaningful experience.”
Dr. Aydın expressed his sincere appreciation to the organizers of the Karachi Healthcare Expo & Conference, particularly Mr. Tanvir Abbas and Dr. Abid Abbas Sheikh, for their warm invitation, outstanding cooperation, and commitment to strengthening international collaboration in healthcare.
As part of the 2026 program, Karachi D8 Healthcare Week will be celebrated from 20 to 27 July 2026, featuring scientific conferences, exhibitions, policy dialogues, networking events, and international partnership initiatives.
The event will also support an international signature campaign advocating for a United Nations World Assembly on Ageing, while launching the Global Health and Ageing Ambassadors Initiative to promote international cooperation in healthy ageing and sustainable healthcare.
The D8 Health Summit 2026 aims to strengthen health diplomacy among D8 member countries, promote innovation and knowledge exchange, and contribute to building healthier, more resilient, and age-friendly societies for future generations.
