ISLAMABAD ( WNAM MONITORING): On the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States, Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairsof Pakistan.
During the talks, the two sides reaffirmed the high level of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan political dialogue, with particular emphasis on strengthening trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects, enhancing transport and logistics connectivity, and taking practical steps towards achieving the goal set by the Heads of State of increasing bilateral trade turnover to USD 1 billion.
The Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues and reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding cooperation within international and regional organizations, including UN, SCO, OIC, and CICA.
The Kazakh side expressed its appreciation to Pakistan for supporting the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to establish the International Water Organization, aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the field of sustainable water resources management.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen the strategic partnership, implement the agreements reached, and maintain an active political dialogue.
