ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): : Chief Executive Officer of D Watson Group, former President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Secretary General United Business Group, Zafar Bakhtawari, has said that Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry’s assumption of the office of Acting President ICCI is a matter of pride for Islamabad’s traders and the entire business community. He expressed these views during his visit to the ICCI to congratulate Irfan Chaudhry on assuming the charge.
Zafar Bakhtawari said that seeing Chaudhary Irfan occupying the chair of Acting President was particularly encouraging for the small traders of Islamabad, adding that it was a great fortune for the Chamber to have a dedicated and committed business leader at its helm. He said Chaudhary Irfan had earned this responsibility through his hard work, sincerity and consistent services for the business community.
Describing Chaudhary Irfan as an asset of the ICCI Founder Group, Zafar Bakhtawari said his long association with the Chamber and his dedication to the cause of traders and entrepreneurs had made him a respected figure among the business community. He expressed confidence that he would use his experience and energy to further strengthen the Chamber’s advocacy for the resolution of business issues.
On his part Irfan Chaudhry thanked Zafar Bakhtawari for visiting the Chamber and congratulating him. He said it was a great honour for him to serve as Acting President of the Islamabad Chamber, which is the prestigious representative institution of the federal capital’s business community, encompassing trade, industry, services and other sectors.
He said the ICCI would continue to play its role as a bridge between the government and the private sector and would remain focused on promoting ease of doing business, facilitating entrepreneurs, resolving traders’ issues and creating a business environment capable of attracting investment and generating economic activity. He also thanked the ICCI Founder Group for reposing confidence in him and assured that he would strive to live up to its expectations.
He added that the Chamber’s international outreach was also gaining momentum, with an ICCI delegation of more than 200 businessmen from diverse sectors currently in Istanbul under the leadership of ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood and Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub. The delegation is exploring new avenues of bilateral trade, investment, joint ventures and business-to-business partnerships between Pakistan and Türkiye.
As part of the visit, a high-level Business Opportunity Conference and International Global Awards ceremonies are being held in Istanbul, bringing together leading business figures from diverse sectors of Türkiye, representatives of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Industry and senior government officials.
ICCI Executive Member Irfan Chaudhry and senior members Aizaz Muhammad and Sajid Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
