Tashkent hosted a meeting between the Chairman of the Hunarmand Association of Uzbekistan and representatives of China’s Pocket Mount.
Pocket Mount is a project team focused on traditional handicrafts, cultural heritage, and sustainable development. Collaborating with leading Chinese cultural and creative centers in Hangzhou and Shanghai, they conduct field research and run cultural exchange programs, along with projects dedicated to studying traditional crafts.
The guests spoke about the organization’s activities and their impressions of visiting craft workshops in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz, as well as about the Artisan Center in Margilan and the Yodgorlik enterprise, where they became familiar with the fabric-making process, traditional weaving technology, and the centuries-old experience of local artisans.
The parties exchanged views on the preservation of the national handicraft heritage, its promotion at the international level, and the development of cultural exchange and cooperation.
