WNAM REPORT: Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association (PAEA), Asif Javed, has said that the local manufacturing of solar panels and batteries will prove to be a major milestone in promoting solarization in the country. It will reduce the cost of solar systems, lessen dependence on imports, and make renewable energy more accessible to the public.
He said that as the cost of solar technology gradually decreases due to local production, households, commercial centers, and the industrial sector will be able to shift towards solar energy at a faster pace, which will also help reduce pressure on conventional sources of electricity.
Asif Javed said that the demand for solar energy in Pakistan is continuously increasing. Therefore, local manufacturing of solar panels, batteries, and other related equipment will not only save valuable foreign exchange but also lead to the establishment of new industries and create extensive employment opportunities.
