There is great inherent wisdom in the statement that to everybody according to his needs and from every body according to his ability. Experience of hindsight reveals that the countries in which taxation system has been worked out on this basis there is no squalor, the rank and file are quite happy and contended.
It is really unfortunate that in a country like ours a minority of elite class enjoy all the facilities that could be thought of like palace like houses to live in limousines to drive shop in Paris and Dubai and also hold marriage ceremonies in their families in the costliest hotels of Dubai whereas teeming millions of rank and file of their country who don’t know where their next meal would come from live a life of misery and squalor. There is a dire need of introducing standard of living tax in the country. The more one’s income the more he should pay. Communism is the fate of those countries where there is wide difference between the filthy rich and the poor. Sensible and far sighted were those trillionaires of 24 countries who a couple of months back on their own volition asked their respective governments to impose a super wealth tax on them and spend the money collected on that account to ameliorate the lot of the downtrodden of their countries.
Postscript: There is hell of a difference between running a country and a spy agency. The problem with Putin is that he has been governing Russia as he ran KGB when he was its chief and there in lies the rub. The surrender of Russian soldiers before the Ukraine Army the other day exposed the myth that Russian army is invincible. Drones and missiles have added new dimension to the war machinery in the ongoing wars between Russia and Ukraine as well as Iran and America and they have changed the very complexion of modern warfare.
